02 Jun Night Lighting / wave lineup shot
Believe it or not, this was my first time ever attempting to shoot lighting. One night I was driving back home and noticed a bunch of lighting towards the ocean. I also knew that it was a full moon and that combo could have potential. I got home gathered my Canon 5d Mark 2 16-35 2.8 II lens, Manfrotto tripod and my Canon intervalometer ( which you can set the camera to fire constantly. I headed down to my favorite and closest beach in Boca Raton, Spanish River and went to work. I shot for about an hour, messing with exposures, angles… you name it, I tried it. Above is one of the better shots I got. My first lighting shot and it ran as the closing image in Eastern Surfing Magazines School’s Out for Summer article about a week after. Score!
